Occupational Information
Individuals who enroll in this program will be able to seek employment at Medicare approved agencies where 75 Clock Hours of training are required. The program follows guidelines established by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration that requires 75 hours of training to work for a Medicare approved home health agency. In order to find other employment additional training may be required. Students who have completed a 40 hour Home Health Aide A program may complete 35 additional hours of Home Health Aide 75 course work and be awarded a diploma in Home Health Aide 75.
Program Objectives
This program is designed to prepare students for employment as home health aides in the home setting for patients who are participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Course Descriptions
Students learn theory, practice skills in a lab setting, and participate in a clinic experience. Students complete a separate course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - heart saver level in order to graduate.
